'The Follower Factory': Buying fake followers and identity theft on social media

The New York Times has written a lengthy investigative piece on a company in the US that allows celebrities and businesses to buy followers and "shares" or "retweets" on social media. Devumi - the company in question - has a stock of 3.5 million automated accounts, including many that steal the identity of real social media users. We take a closer look at the consequences.
