Hong Kong protest scrubbed from mainland China's media

Major media outlets made no mention of it and social media was censored - mainland China, unsurprisingly, made every effort to silence any mention of Hong Kong's biggest protest in a decade. Also, Russian media take a stand over the arrest and ill-treatment of an investigative journalist over allegedly trumped-up drug possession charges. Finally, the tree offered to Donald Trump by Emmanuel Macron last year has died: the symbolic death has inspired lots of comment on social media.
