Baaka, the fallen kings of the forest

The Baka pygmies have traditionally made their home in the rain forests of remote parts of the Central African Republic. But they are finding it increasingly difficult to eke out a living there. Poaching in the area has led to a major decrease in wild game, leaving them struggling to provide for their families. Some of the elders also feel that their culture is also under threat: traditional knowledge and customs are no longer being transmitted to younger generations.
