The war in eastern Ukraine is far from over, but with the arrival of winter, it's no longer only the guns and shellfire that worry the inhabitants of the self-proclaimed Republic of Donbass. Since the region came under the control of pro-Russian separatists, Kiev has cut off all funding. Without salaries or pensions, the inhabitants are surviving on nationalist fervour alone. Our reporters witnessed first-hand the worsening humanitarian crisis.
