© {{ scope.credits }}A ceremonial Accession Council proclaimed Charles III to be Britain's new king Saturday morning following the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II at age 96 on Thursday. The new king promised in his speech to emulate his mother during his rule, signed an oath to uphold the rights of the Church of Scotland, and met with members of the government in Buckingham Palace.
