This Friday marks the World Press Freedom Day. At least ninety five journalists were killed last year, according to the International Federation of Journalists. In honour of the occasion, a conference was held in Ethiopia on the role of the media in elections and democracy, in a country that was one of the world's worst prosecutors of journalists until last year. Since reformist Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed took over last year, this environment has changed dramatically.
