Pentagon cancels $10 billion cloud computing contract with Microsoft

The US Defense Department has scrapped its $10 billion cloud computing contract with Microsoft, known as JEDI. The deal had been mired in legal challenges, including from rival Amazon, which had lost out in the bidding process in 2019. The Pentagon will seek new tenders later this year for a revised contract. Also today, French consumer groups are calling for more checks on food labels after an investigation found imported produce had been labelled as grown in France.
