UK government suspends competition laws amid panic buying of fuel

Thousands of petrol stations across the UK ran dry on Sunday as drivers rushed to fill up their cars amid worries about lasting shortages. The government suspended competition laws to allow companies to exchange information and coordinate a response. It's also decided to issue 5,000 short-term visas to foreign lorry drivers. Meanwhile, British company Rolls Royce wins a multi-year competition to build new engines for the US Air Force's B-52 bombers.Â
