Why was turnout so low in Iran's presidential election?

Last month, hardliner Ebrahim Raisi was elected as Iran's new president with 62 percent of the vote. But turnout was at a historic low: less than half of eligible voters took part in the election. Our reporters James André, Mayssa Awad and Roméo Langlois spoke to Iranians in the days following the vote to try to understand why so few of them chose to cast a ballot.
