Afghan women: An uncertain future under Taliban rule
Issued on:
In the first edition of a new series, we're focusing on the plight of women in Afghanistan. As tens of thousands seek to flee the nation, the UN has said there are already reports of abuse by the Taliban especially when it comes to restricting women and girls. France 24’s Catherine Norris-Trent and Cyril Payen report from Kabul on how life is unfolding now for women under Taliban rule.
We also meet an Afghan human rights activist who escaped to France and talk to Professor Victoria Fontan from the American University of Afghanistan who fled Kabul in recent days, on what the international community can do.
