'Iranians are upset with the social situation and unemployment', says Iran specialist Thierry Coville

Thierry Coville, an Iran specialist at Novancia business school in Paris, speaks to FRANCE 24 about what sparked the protests in Iran. “People are upset with the social situation and unemployment,” he says. “A lot of graduates with a Master’s degree cannot find a job. The economic and political system is unfair and there’s the feeling that only the ‘happy few’ benefit in the country. The big issue is jobs and the ability of the government to attract investment.”
