Study estimates Puerto Rico''s hurricane Maria killed more than 6,400 people

A new study from Harvard University says last year''s hurricane Maria led to the deaths of 4,645 people in Puerto Rico, far above the official death toll of 64. The mortality rate jumped 62% in the months following the hurricane, with many deaths linked to disruptions to medical care caused by power shortages, which are still ongoing.
