'I considered the facts... were being dealt with on an appropriate level,' Collomb tells lawmakers on Benalla scandal

Questioned over a Macron aide's alleged assault of May Day protesters, French Interior Minister Gérard Collomb told French lawmakers on Monday, "Mr Benalla, not being under my direct supervision... and considering that the president's office as well as the Paris police chief had all the necessary information to act... I considered that the facts which had been reported were being dealt with on an appropriate level... and that I did not need to take care of the matter."
