Holocaust remembrance: A family reunion 75 years in the making

As the world marks Holocaust Remembrance Day, we look further into the story of Louise Pikovsky, a French high school pupil who was deported to the Nazi death camps during World War II. A collection of wartime letters written by Louise, which was discovered in a cupboard at her former school in 2010, became the subject of a webdocumentary by FRANCE 24’s Stéphanie Trouillard two years ago. Since then members of the Pikovsky family, some of whom knew nothing of Louise’s existence, have been reunited by her story. Seventy-five years after the war, we filmed the family reunion.
