Journalists hit the streets of Algiers against alleged media censorship

Algerians are set to take part Friday in rare protests – dubbed the Million Man March -- against a fifth term for President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, as police briefly arrested many journalists demonstrating against the “censorship” of protest coverage. Algeria is set for a new round of protests expected to break out after the Friday noon prayers in several cities in the latest round of demonstrations to hit the North African country. Tens of thousands took part in the first protests last Friday over Bouteflika's decision to seek a fifth term in the April 18 presidential election.
