'You will be judgded' protestors shout to Bouteflika's entourage

Algerians are planning further protests on Friday in a key test of whether they can keep up the pressure for wholesale political change following the resignation of longtime leader Abdelaziz Bouteflika. The ailing 82-year-old president quit late on Tuesday after weeks of demonstrations against his bid for a fifth term in office. He had lost the backing of key loyalists including army chief Ahmed Gaid Salah. But Bouteflika regime stalwarts have been entrusted to oversee the political transition in the gas-rich North African country, angering protesters who want a clean break from the past.
