Almost 2,000 Ukrainians were killed or injured in heavily mined Donbass eastern region

Eastern Donbas region has become one of the most heavily mined in the world, according to the UN, as some 2,000 people have been killed or injured by landmines since war began, including 124 children. But demining is only possible in some areas. Every month, the Ukrainian army's de-mining brigade comes to a disused quarry to dispose of explosive materials found along the frontline. There are anti-tank mines, anti-personnel mines, IEDs, unused ammunition - only a tiny fraction of what's there.
