In 2018, the national election ended with a coalition of anti-establishment populists from the five star movement and the far-right LEGA. One of the major political battlegrounds has been over immigration. At the end of last year the government passed a controversial law seen by many as being anti-migrant. Our reporting team has been to find out how the new rules are impacting migrants and Italian nationals alike in Milan, a city previously seen as a model of integration.
