Mexico tightens border security in wake of Trump tariff threats
With a Monday deadline looming, a second day of tense negotiations between US and Mexican officials has failed to reach a deal to avert import tariffs being threatened by the US president. Trump vowing that unless Mexico succeeds in substantially stemming the flow of migrants north, a 5% tax on all Mexican imports would come into effect in the beginning of next week. Mexico, meanwhile, has announced plans to deploy 6,000 national guard troops to its border with Guatemala. Shirli Sitbon has the details.
