Istanbul: İmamoğlu ends 25 years of AKP rule in massive blow to Erdoğan

This Sunday, the controversial rerun of Istanbul's elections took place. In the last vote, the AKP and the CHP's candidates were split by a slim margin of only 13,000 votes. This time around, in what is seen by many as a 'victory for democracy', the opposition, CHP, won by 800,000 votes, marking a massive loss for Erdogan who once said "whoever wins Istanbul wins Turkey'.
