Algeria: Protests continue as election kicks off

Algerians are going to the polls today in a much delayed Presidential election, but the vote has been opposed by a mass protest movement that wants to delay the vote completely until the entire ruling elite steps down and the military gets out of politics. The demonstrations already pushed out longtime leader Abdelaziz Bouteflika, but protesters say today's vote is just a ploy by those in power to hang on to it.
