EU access to British waters a point of contention

Access to British waters, which are rich in fish, could be a thorny issue for the EU in future trade talks with the UK following Brexit. Taking back control of Britain's territorial waters was one of the key demands of the Brexit campaign over fears that national sovereignty was being eroded. But the EU may hit London where it hurts by demanding a fisheries accord in exchange for giving the UK's banking sector access to the European market.
