China suffers first contraction in decades

China GDP shrank 6.8% in the first quarter, with three key indicators down between 10-20%, for manufacturing activity, retail sales, and fixed asset investment. Beijing has yet to announce a stimulus package, though other measures in place aim to support small and medium businesses. The country has also revised upwards by almost exactly 50% the number of deaths in Wuhan province due to the disease.
