Lebanon start talks with IMF over financial aid without ‘guarantees of receiving any’

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) started talks with Lebanon, as the country looks for US$10 billion in aid to try to solve its worst financial crisis ever. As the country’s economic situation is set to worsen as Lebanon is back into lockdown after a new spike in Covid-19 cases, there are no guarantees that the IMF grants Beirut the aid, as the country is already extremely indebted, FRANCE 24’s Beirut correspondent Leila Molana-Allen says.
