Hong Kongers march in defiance of harsh national security laws

Pro-democracy protestors in Hong Kong took to the streets Wednesday, despite the threat of strict punishments as part of a range of national security laws imposed by Beijing earlier in the week. Crimes of secession, subversion, terrorism, and collusion with foreign forces will be punished with up to life in prison, the law also allowing for cases to be heard in mainland courts in certain circumstances.
