Millions of Australians in Melbourne spent the day under a new lockdown, which is due to last six weeks and is part of the response to a spike in coronavirus cases. Victoria’s authorities also decided to close the border with New South Wales. “Authorities warned that New South Wales could also go back into lockdown if the outbreak in Victoria is not contained”, FRANCE 24’s Sydney correspondent Richelle Harrison Plesse reports.
