Macron wants ‘masks to be mandatory in all indoor public places’ from August 1

French President Emmanuel Macron gave an interview for Bastille Day for the first time, a tradition French Presidents had seen since the 1970’s but Macron had decided to do without until now. As France is still struggling with the coronavirus pandemic – which has claimed more than 30,000 lives in the country, Macron said he wants the wearing of “masks to be mandatory in all indoor public places”, even though the country “is ready” in case of a second-wave.
