Ethiopia has denied filling the Renaissance Dam reservoir, insisting it is a natural part of the construction project. The 4-billion dollar project has been a source of tension in the Nile river basin with neighbouring Sudan and Egypt, since Addis Ababa announced it in 2011, with Khartoum and Cairo warning it could lead to water shortages in their own countries, as FRANCE 24’s chief foreign editor editor Robert Parsons explains.
