France to make indoor masks compulsory next week amid fears of second-wave of Coronavirus pandemic

France’s Prime Minister Jean Castex has announced that masks will be made mandatory in closed public spaces starting from next week, after first bringing the August 1 date, announced by President Emmanuel Macron. The country’s Health Minister Olivier Véran has also indicated that numbers show a rise in infections over the last weeks, amid warnings of a possible second wave of the pandemic.
