Spain honours health workers and Covid-19 victims amid case surge and restrictions in Catalonia, Balearic Islands

Spain is paying tribute to the 28,000 people who have died from Covid-19 in the country and to its health workers in a ceremony presided by King Felipe VI. EU top officials attended the event, such as EU top commission chief Ursula Van Der Leyen. The virus is however still circulating in Spain, and pubs in Mallorca were obliged to close again after a resurgence of cases, just as Catalonia is partly back into lockdown, as FRANCE 24’s Madrid correspondent Phil Minshull reports.
