Brazil records 5 million cases, though daily infections in decline

Brazil’s numbed of coronavirus cases has surpassed 5 million, though the number of new daily infections is dropping. The country is the third-most affected by the virus, which has killed almost 150,000 people. Local health experts warn it is too early to relax social distancing, however, the country’s firebrand President Jair Bolsonaro continues to downplay the threat of the virus and opposes lockdowns.
