Europe imposes tighter restrictions as backlash grows

More countries in Europe are shutting down businesses after attempts failed to keep the coronavirus in check. Germany will close all bars and restaurants from Monday for one month, while Belgium, where bars and restaurants are already closed, will also shut all non-essential shops for six weeks. Belgium has the fastest rate of Covid-19 spread in the world, and a higher number of patients in hospitals from the disease than at the peak earlier this year.
