Italy placed under nationwide nighttime curfew

Italy has approved new restrictions to curb a second wave of the epidemic, which saw more than 30,000 new infections over the last 24 hours. From Thursday, Italy’s 60 million residents will be required to stay at home from 10pm to 5am, except for work or health reasons. The country’s 20 regions are being placed into three tiers based on factors including local infection rates and occupancy.
