France has surpassed 2 million confirmed cases of coronavirus, the fourth-highest total in the world. France health chief Jerome Salomon says with 33,500 COVID-19 patients in the hospital, the situation is far from good. However, he suggested the “collective efforts are starting to bear fruit” since the nation returned to a lockdown until at least Dec. 1.
