Portugal’s surging Covid-19 cases push hospitals to the limit as country runs out of ICU beds

Covid-19 deaths have hit a new daily high in Portugal, with over 218 people dying from the virus on the past 24h. Stricter restrictions have now gone into effect in the European country after the Prime Minister said that too many people have been flouting the rules. The country had managed to avoid the worse during the first wave of the pandemic.
