US Senate Republicans to push back start of Trump impeachment trial to February

A day after Joe Biden was sworn in as US President, Senate Republicans are now calling for Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial to be delayed until February, in order to get the former president time to prepare his defence. Trump is accused of inciting insurrection after his supporters stormed the capital on January 6, becoming the first president in US history to be impeached twice, after the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives voted in favour of his impeachment.
