International aid arrives in India as Covid-19 cases surpass 24 million, variant spreads globally

Fresh international aid has arrived in India, as the country continues to struggle with a deadly second wave of the coronavirus pandemic. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has warned that Covid-19 has also spread to rural parts of the country, raising worries of a situation that could spiral even further out of control. Covid-19 cases have surpassed 24 million in India, despite a month-long lockdown in New Delhi.
