India’s demand for jabs outpaces supply across country amid continuous surge of Covid-19

India has reached another grim milestone: more than 300,000 people have died from Covid-19. A devastating surge in infections seems to be easing off in big cities but it is still swamping over the poor country side, as the country’s struggles with a slow vaccine delivery, which forced many to miss their shots. Demand is outpacing supply despite India being the world’s biggest producer of vaccines, with the government pledging to produce at least 2 billion doses between August and December 2021.
