For its 74th edition, the Cannes Film Festival is hoping to inspire further efforts concerning climate change with an environment focus in a special selection. With her film “Above water”, which was shot in Niger, French actor and now filmmaker Aïssa Maïga sends a plea for world leaders to rethink their approach to global development and the climate interconnections between the polluters and those who pay the price. She spoke to FRANCE 24's Juliette Montilly.
