History of Bastille Day

July 14 marks the storming of the Bastille prison in Paris in 1789, an uprising that helped spark the French Revolution. In 1880, it became a national holiday. In recent years it's become tradition for thousands to gather on the Champs Elysées to watch the parade and the military fly-over. FRANCE 24's Claire Rush reports.
