Brexit deal: London appears to be backtracking on the agreement

The British government says the deal it agreed to with the European Union concerning trade rules needs a major re-write... adding that the UK would be justified in unilaterally suspending the legally binding Brexit agreement.. But that it just hasn't decided to do so as yet. Six months after the UK left the EU, London wants to change the Northern Ireland protocol which calls for goods from ainland Britain going to Northern Ireland to follow EU customs rules - with checks on the Irish Sea.The idea was to avoid a hard border on the island of Ireland that could jeopardize the ongoing peace process in Northern Ireland, which is a part of the UK.
