France: 'Vaccination roll-out alone wouldn't be enough to stop a fourth wave of infections'

France faces a rising number of COVID-19 infections.21,000 new cases of the virus were reported yesterday and 18,000 the day before. That's up sharply on the sorts of numbers being reported last week. The government says the spike in cases is particularly significant amongst younger age groups, notably amongst people aged in the 12 to 17 and 18 to 29 year old age groups. The French government scientific advisor, said today that the vaccination roll-out alone wouldn't be enough to stop a fourth wave of infections and he warned that hospitals might start seeing an influx of new patients by mid-August. He once again urged the French people to take extra care. France 24's Julia Sieger tells us more.
