Australia's second most populous state, Victoria, will enter a seven-day lockdown on August 5 after a fresh outbreak of COVID-19 cases, state Premier Daniel Andrews said. Victoria state said it has detected eight new cases, the bulk of which could not be traced back to a known infection, triggering a one-week lockdown for the state's more than 6 million people from Thursday evening.
