Since July 28, when the first large-scale blazes broke out, Turkey has seen some 187 forest fires, while 13 fires that erupted since last week are still bearing down on southern provinces. A wildfire that reached the compound of a coal-fueled power plant in southwest Turkey and forced evacuations by boats and cars, was contained on Thursday after raging for some 11 hours, officials and media reports said.
