The United States pressed on with the mammoth evacuation from Afghanistan on Friday (August 27) amid tighter security measures and fears of more bloodshed, a day after the suicide attack at the Kabul airport that killed scores of Afghans and 13 US service members. The Pentagon said Friday 5,400 people are inside Kabul airport awaiting evacuation from Afghanistan, one day after a deadly attack on the operation by the Islamic State group.
