Issued on:
The storm has affected the Ebro delta in a special way. In Alcanar (Tarragona) there have been floods in the streets due to the fall of 220 litres of water per square metre, 77.7 liters fell in just half an hour. The waters caused damages in basements and bar terraces, disrupted road and railway traffic and left hundreds of residents without electricity. The emergency services had to carry out rescues in houses and vehicles and evacuate a campsite. In a short time the streets became torrents of water and cars and urban furniture were dragged at full speed to the seafront by the force of the water.
